Sunday’s race raised funds for breast cancer screening and treatment programs, celebrated survivors and honored those who have battled with the disease. Approximately seventy-five percent of the funds raised stay in Austin to provide breast health education, screening and treatment services in the greater Austin area and surrounding communities. The additional proceeds are sent to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program.

Since the first race in 2003, the Austin event has raised nearly seven million dollars for breast cancer research and treatment. The Austin Race for the Cure raised nearly one million dollars this year. If you would like to make a donation for the Susan G. Komen Search for a Cure, donations for the Race are accepted through November 30th.
